↝ Multipronged Deployment of Google’s Tensor Technology: A Review

Tensor, Google's in-house chipset, is being utilized across various sectors and disciplines, highlighting its versatility and innovative potential. Google has allocated a substantial portion of its resources to the development and refinement of the Tensor Processing Unit (TPU). The Pixel 10 series, despite bearing the brunt of excessive overheating complaints, is speculated to be equipped with a TSMC-built Tensor chipset, *Tensor G5*, according to leaked documents. In addition, Google is working on a custom camera ISP for the Tensor G5 in its upcoming Pixel 10. With Google extensively investing in the Tensor technology, experts are conjecturing a possible major modification in the Tensor G5's design. A Tensor chip is presumed to be featured in Pixel Watch 5, as per recent reports. Beyond consumer electronics, Tensor is being integrated into other spheres. Fermioniq became the first third-party Tensor network emulation product on NVIDIA's CUDA-Q platform. Tensor Ventures announced a €50 million Deep-Tech fund, which will focus on space tech and CEE startups. Despite the progress, the question of Tensor's efficacy remains. Some feel the Tensor project may even have failed, largely due to concerns over performance and heating issues.
