Google's Tensor G4 chipset included in its
Pixel 9 series delivers mixed performance according to various reports. It was not designed for benchmark-beating speeds but for enhancing user experience. Even the
Pixel 9 Pro XL experienced throttling concerns as it only exploited 50% of the Tensor G4's maximum performance. However, a significant improvement is expected with
Tensor G5 system which is currently being finalized at TSMC. Google intends to utilize
TSMC's 3nm manufacturing process and advanced packaging technology for the Tensor G5, moving away from its previous collaboration with Samsung. This change could lead to better performance and energy efficiency, challenging Apple's dominance. Google also plans to implement the Tensor technology in its wireless earbuds, with the new Tensor A1 chip expected to feature in the upcoming
Pixel Buds Pro 2. Meanwhile,
Tensor.Art has been established as the largest VisionAI resource hosting platform, showcasing Tensor's range beyond chipset development. Elsewhere, Microsoft's collaboration with Tensor for
.NET 9 signifies further market penetration, while Google's recent launch of the
Tensor A1 chip in the Pixel Buds Pro 2 takes this competition to Apple's earbuds too. Findings suggest the upcoming Tensor G5 could be the first real chipset made by Google pending its launch in the Pixel 10.
