Canadian cryptocurrency miner,
HIVE Blockchain Technologies, has been making strategic moves in the crypto space. HIVE has initiated a
$75 million note offering aimed at funding its expansion into
Artificial Intelligence (AI) infrastructure. It plans to pivot from Bitcoin mining to high-performance computing. HIVE and Bitfarms have been leading rallies in the Bitcoin mining space while also transitioning to AI technology. HIVE has seen substantial
Bitcoin growth, with mining capacity reportedly increasing by 283%, aiming for 25 EH/s by Thanksgiving. In Q3, HIVE reported a 219% surge in revenue.
HIVE's BUZZ inked $30 million in AI cloud contracts, and its Bitcoin mining now accounts for 2% of the global Bitcoin network. It has also seen an 8% surge in stock prices owing to increased Bitcoin production. Its shift to AI and High-Performance Computing (HPC) might take longer than expected to be lucrative. The company aims to lower Bitcoin mining in Sweden while expanding AI data center capacity in Canada. It continued production expansion despite Bitcoin dumps and reported a record revenue of $87.3 million. With a strategy of pivoting Bitcoin mining towards AI and HPC, HIVE Digital Technologies hopes to increase its revenues even further in the future.
