LayerZero has been grabbing significant attention in the crypto market for its various strategic decisions and technical developments. The company recently faced some concerns regarding its token contract, as flagged by its founder. This led to a proposal by Across to cap token supply, leading to intensified bearish pressure and halting
LayerZero's recovery efforts. However, the company continued making strategic partnerships and became the default interoperability provider for
BitGo's WBTC as well as
Animoca Brands.
LayerZero also integrated
Solana into its cross-chain bridge network and partnered with
Eigen Labs to boost cross-chain security. These developments have attributed to
LayerZero's price stability despite the issues encountered. Amidst this, there have been controversies around company's 'not an airdrop' and sybil detection program. However,
LayerZero has continued its process by launching an airdrop eligibility checker and encouraging self-reporting or 'receive nothing' warnings for sybil airdrop farmers. Interestingly,
LayerZero's ZRO token defied the usual trend of recent airdrops by surging over 40% over a weekend. On a more technical front,
LayerZero launched on
ApeChain Mainnet and the Ethereum rollup Initia testnet that introduces OFT standard as a native solution. The company is also gearing up for the launch of its Initia testnet as it completes the first airdrop snapshot.
