Recently, LayerZero has been increasingly named as the interoperability protocol of choice for numerous platforms including BitGoβs WBTC and Animoca Brands. This comes as a result of LayerZero's novel approach to addressing issues such as sybil attacks and wash trading in token issuance. The company's cross-chain interoperability protocol has completed its first successful airdrop snapshot, and over 1.28 million wallets were eligible to take part in the airdrop. However, according to the LayerZero CEO, about 85% of these addresses may be ineligible due to violative behavior.
Importantly, LayerZero also continues to enhance its anti-Sybil mechanisms by introducing a self-reporting system which, although controversial, aims to detect fraudulent users more effectively. A variety of partnerships and integrations have been initiated, for instance with Trident3, Initia Labs and Flare, thereby increasing the number of blockchains interoperable with LayerZero to over 70, including Solana and Tron. LayerZero's ZRO token experienced a precipitous decline following some controversy around its airdrop policy, however, investors still remain bullish on its long-term prospects owing to its innovative technology and the increasing use of its interoperability services by significant industry players.
