Bulgaria is preparing for the transition to the Euro, with newly revealed coin designs carrying national symbols and sending messages to Brussels. A unique series of Euro coins are being launched to celebrate 50 years of the European Space Agency (ESA). Euro stablecoins are seeing a surge following the Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) rollout. As a result, European banks are launching their own Euro stablecoins to counter US dominance, with Deutsche Börse locking in a third one amid broader EU adoption. Euro coins, including the newer one and two Euro coins from Luxembourg featuring the new Grand Duke's effigy, will undergo significant changes from January 1, 2026, some even set to feature Cyrillic script. According to experts, the national symbols incorporated into the new Bulgarian Euro coins give them a distinct identity and tell the story of national history and spirituality. Euro coins such as the Vatican City’s 50-Euro gold coin have won recent awards. In the forthcoming Eurozone confirmation, Bulgaria is launching a sale of the first Euro coin starter kits, with starter sets beginning to be sold on December 1. The new designs for Bulgaria's Euro coins have been approved and are anticipated to come into circulation in 2026. Notably, people are being urged to check for rare details in €2 coins that could potentially make these coins worth a fortune.
