A variety of rare coins, from different eras and regions, has been hitting the
auction scene recently. A 1794 Flowing Hair dollar, known for its fine condition, has been upgraded, while early Half Eagles from the Hansen Collection have been introduced in the DLRC Red Carpet Rarities Auction. A wide range of
unique and valuable coins, such as ones struck before the American Revolution, and those issued after the California Gold Rush, have shattered records by fetching millions of dollars at auctions. A highlighted example is the
rare gold 'Brutus' coin, minted after Julius Caesar's murder, which smashed its estimate to sell for $2 million. This surge in activity and interest has significantly lifted the sales of US coins, contributing to Heritageβs FUN Numismatic Auctions recording total sales over $78 million. In other news, A-Mark has expanded its product portfolio by acquiring Stack's Bowers Galleries, a leading global rare coin auction house and dealer. Importance has also been shown towards some special coin auctions such as the 9th Annual Valentineβs For Veterans Benefit Auction and the Red Kettle Specialty Coin Auction, which reached $25K to support the Waterloo/Cedar Falls Salvation Army.
