Multiple events are shaping the current and potential future value of the
PLN Coin.
The Złoty, Poland's national currency, is celebrating its
100th Anniversary, leading to an upsurge in
commemorative coins and notes by the National Bank of Poland (NBP). Some notable coins feature the Tyniec Abbey, the Ulma Family, the Battle of Vienna and the 550th anniversary of the birth of Nicolaus Copernicus, among others. A rare collection of 30 Polish coins achieved a selling price of
$3.5 million at a New York auction. The NBP, together with the Ukrainian Central Bank, also issued a joint set of
commemorative coins.
Meanwhile, in the
crypto market, the Indonesian police have reportedly shut down 10
Bitcoin mining operations due to energy theft, indicating a strengthening enforcement on
cryptocurrency regulations.
As for the PLN itself, inflation is giving
Eastern European currencies wings, making the Polish Zloty, or
PLN, stronger. The country has been integrating modern technology, with the
WhiteBIT crypto exchange introducing new deposit methods and BitMarket.pl successfully launching a new Bitcoin exchange. The Polish Financial Authorities, however, previously paid a Youtuber to smear cryptocurrency, eliciting questions about the government's stance and actions towards digital currencies.
Finally, plans are underway to release a new 500 and 1,000 Zloty notes, a development which might affect the perception and use of digital currency in Poland.
