ONE Coin remains in unfortunate light, with its Cryptoqueen
Ruja Ignatova being sought extensively. Reports suggest she's alive and in South Africa, but also tied to the Bulgaria underworld. Despite her indictment, she was still investing in Dubai. Various insiders, including ONE Coin's legal officer and a lawyer involved in laundering proceeds, have been sentenced. Authorities have increased the bounty for information on Ignatova to $5 million. Other reports indicate the co-founder of ONE Coin has pleaded guilty to his involvement in the scam, and Ignatova's brother has been released after three years in jail. Interestingly, the Coin's compliance head also pleaded guilty in this
$4 billion crypto fraud case. A documentary series on the massive ONE Coin scam is under works, while the FBI adds Ruja to its top ten most wanted.
Cryptocurrency market has other news too, including an increase in the popularity of meme coins, especially with a new meme index ICO being successful. Meanwhile, the U.S. retail sales resilience indicates a possible 'coin toss' for the upcoming Fed decision.
