Google's Pixel brand continues to make waves in the tech market, with updates and deals popping up regularly. The
Android 15 QPR2 beta 1 release, including major upgrades specifically for Tensor-powered Pixels, is now live and rolling out to Pixels. Additionally, the
Pixel 8a has dropped in price just ahead of Black Friday, with additional major deals, such as a $150 off the
Pixel 9 Pro, available on Google's Black Friday event. The Pixel phone range is also receiving significant
kernel upgrades with the new Android version. This comes with some caveats though, as the
Pixel 5a has reached it's end of update line. Meanwhile, the
Pixel Watch continues its update schedule into 2025, with a new OS 5 update scheduled for release.
Pixels continues to innovate, with features like magnetic pixels enabling screens to store and display encrypted images with no electronics and live scam detection in calls rolling out on the Pixel 6-9 Phone app. There is considerable anticipation around the
Pixel 9 Pro Fold, which comes with a triple rear camera setup and Gemini AI capabilities. Additionally, Google is now selling refurbished models of the
Pixel 6 and 7. In the face of these advancements, the CEO of Pixels has reflected on the company's first year and revealed it's goals looking forward to 2025. As for the competition, the verdict is still out on whether Pixel or the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra comes out on top.
