
The recent developments in the cryptocurrency market suggest a remarkable surge in the meme coin sector. Multiple platforms such as Odin.fun and Pump.fun have emerged challenging each other as launchpads for new meme coins. Interestingly, Pump.fun has recently faced legal troubles with a law firm that previously sued them has now found ties with a $23M DOGSHIT2 coin. The importance of meme coins has been growing with Pump.fun even hitting the mark of $3.3B in weekly trading.
Different meme coins such as BTFD Coin and several others have received significant attention on these platforms, however, it is noted that over 60% of the traders on Pump.fun are not finding it profitable. It is further revealed that the Pump.fun platform had a high of $14M in daily revenue at the start of 2025 and it is expected to surpass that level. Various platforms like Fun.coin and Exp-fun-coin-win are catching up the meme coin mania with various interesting projects in the pipeline.
Recently, there has been a backlash towards Pump.fun for its harmful livestream content. Despite this issu, reports suggest that it continues to dominate the Solana Network as it is responsible for 70% of the tokens launched and 56% of transactions. Interestingly, Pump.fun has now started rewarding successful meme coin launches with 0.5 SOL. However, the UK regulators have declared the Solana-Based Platform Pump.fun illegal.
