According to multiple updates, the
Bhutan government currently holds more than
$750 million in Bitcoin, surpassing El Salvador and becoming the fourth largest government Bitcoin holder. This has triggered speculation about the country's stance towards cryptocurrency.
Arkham, a prominent intelligence firm in the crypto space, brought these findings to light. There were also reports about other government entities like those in the US and Germany shifting large amounts of Bitcoin for various reasons, with some instances linked to tax compliance.
Arkham has partnered with services such as Coingecko and Coinbase Wallet to improve trading analytics and track wallets linked to significant Bitcoin holdings. Amidst this, the US government holds around
$12 billion in Bitcoin, as reported by Arkham. There were also controversies about
Arkham token (ARKM) sales, with the company accused of obscuring its operations. However, Arkham continues to dovetail with the crypto industry trends, unveiling Bitcoin holdings of SpaceX and Tesla and initiating bounties to identify fraudulent altcoin project owners. Alongside the global governmental and institutional movements, fluctuations in Bitcoin price were observed, often linked to transfers from Mt. Gox wallets. Among other developments, Arkham provided data on fund movements related to unique token projects such as DJT Token and TRON-based Memecoins.
